A room parent is the “lead” volunteer of a classroom, a bridge between the teacher and other parents.
The specifics of the position vary from classroom to classroom, but essentially, a room parent provides a communication line between the teacher, the other parents, the Parent Faculty Club and occasionally, school administration. Room parents play a crucial role in effective school communications and building community.
