This policy describes the information collected when you visit harveymilk.com (the “Site”) and how it is used. The Site is informational: it does not offer accounts, sell products, or ask you to submit personal information.

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Site. Google Analytics collects information automatically, such as the pages you view, how long you stay, how you arrived (for example, a search engine or another website), your approximate location (city or region), your device type, browser, and operating system, and interactions such as playing the video on the home page.

Google Analytics uses first-party cookies (for example, “_ga”) to distinguish visitors and sessions. We do not use this information to identify you personally.

Like most websites, our hosting provider (Google Firebase Hosting) may also process standard technical information, such as your IP address and browser details, in order to deliver pages securely.

We use analytics information in aggregate to understand which content is useful, improve the Site, and measure interest in Harvey Milk’s story. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Google processes analytics and hosting data on our behalf under its own privacy policy. Links on the Site to other websites, such as the Harvey Milk Foundation or Xavie Agency, are governed by those websites’ own privacy policies.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent your visits from being measured. The Site works fully without analytics cookies.

The Site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.

The Site is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the date above will be updated.
